Sire of the Louisdor Prize record winner and Grand Prix star, Fendi
The elite stallion Franklin started his career as a KWPN champion stallion, HLP winner in the Netherlands, finalist at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses and placed in the international Small Tour. Under Malin Wahlkamp-Nilsson/SWE, he has since added successes in the Grand Prix arena. 20 of his sons have been licensed, including the Grand Prix-successful Kaliber/Andrea Woodard/USA, the reserve champion Franklin's Love PS and Kadans, our Oldenburg State Championship bronze medal winner and Ic main premium winner Fair Deal, the winner of the Ravn's Trophy, Slangerupgaard's Flottenheimer, and the Swedish HLP winner Knockando VH. The Louisdor Prize winner, the winner of the Aachen Nations' Cup and German Vice Champion, Fendi/Sönke Rothenberger, the international St. Georges-placed Elektra di Fonte Abeti/Juliette Ramel/SWE and the World Breeding Dressage Championships eighth-placed Francis Drake OLD/Leonie Richter also stand out from the crowd of sporty offspring.
The Franklin daughter Faretti was awarded the gold medal at the Elite Mare Show in Denmark. Faretti was the best DWB dressage filly in 2017 and was knocked down for the sensational price of 150,000 euros at the Nordic International Sales Auction. Her full sister Faretti II was the top-priced filly the following year. In 2020, the filly Fascination cost 60,000 euros at the Schockemöhle/Helgstrand Online Foal Auction. The title of best filly went to the Franklin daughter Francisca Lightfoot in 2016 and to her paternal sister Vilard's Fina in 2021.
His sire, Ampère, himself a KWPN Champion Stallion and HLP winner, produced the successful Grand Prix stallions Abegglen FH NRW/Victoria Max-Theurer/AUT, Attraktiv/Ivan Nieto Sanchez/ESP, Amandori/Simone Pearce/AUS and the Olympic participant All at Once/Yessin Rahmouni/MAR. Also competing in Tokyo/JPN in 2021: Flambeau/Larissa Pauluis/BEL. His award-winning daughters are led by the Westphalian Champion Mare Anky and the mare Amicella, who produced the Westphalian Champion Stallion, Westphalian and Bundeschampion, World Championship dressage horse finalist, international Inter II-placed and Louisdor Prize fourth-placed Valverde. Numerous top auction horses.
The pedigree of Franklin shows highly interesting line breeding to the stallion legends Ferro and Flemmingh.
The dam's sire, Ferro, secured three championship silver medals. Under Coby van Baalen/NED, he was part of the Netherlands' second-placed team at the 1998 World Equestrian Games in Rome/ITA, at the 1999 European Championships in Arnhem/NED and at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney/AUS. He also took second place in the World Cup Final in 's-Hertogenbosch/NED. His 17 licensed sons include Rousseau, Negro, Metall and Rhodium. He received the "keur" award in the Netherlands.
The maternal grandsire, Flemmingh, is one of the most important dressage sires in the Netherlands and made his mark with the Grand Prix stallions Krack C/Anky van Grunsven/NED and Lingh/Edward Gal/NED.
