We put in the final bid of two million euros to secure the spectacular chestnut stallion with pristine pedigree that breeders celebrated with standing ovations.
Daan G’s sire Hesselhøj Donkey Boss is by Hesselhøj Donkey Boy, premium stallion back in 2015 at his licensing test in Denmark, performance test champion, four-year-old champion stallion and winner of the Danish Young Dressage Horse Championships in 2016, Dressage World Breeding Championship bronze medallist in 2017, finalist in 2018 and silver medal winner in 2019 as a seven year-old. In each of these years he also won the Danish Championship and, in 2020, he competed successfully in Inter I and Grand Prix classes with scores of 75 percent and higher. Hesselhøj Donkey Boy also has elite stallion status. Seven of his offspring are licensed, including the world champion of five-year-old dressage horses, the reserve world champion of six-year-old dressage horses, Hesselhøj Downtown, and his full brother Hesselhøj Donkey Boss. The latter was a premium stallion at his licensing in Denmark, named best four-year-old stallion in Denmark and winner of the prestigious Aage Ravn Challenge Cup for the best Danish bred 4 or 5 year-old dressage stallion. At his stallion performance test he received the top scores of 10 for temperament, 9.5 for trot, walk and rideability, and 9.0 for canter. Daan G was one of his first crop of foals.
His dam, De Vie G., won a bronze medal at her mare performance test. One of her daughters, Madison G. (by Monte Carlo) won her mare performance test. This year’s foal by Hesselhøj Donkey Boss, Dane G., received the gold medal and was named Hanoverian International Champion. De Vie G.’s half-sister Donna Diamond G. (by Hesselhøj Donkey Boy) came second in the Riders Cup test for young riding horses with 855 points.
The dam’s sire Don Olymbrio notched up significant wins and placings at international Grand Prix level with Daniel Bachmann Anderssen/DEN and Nanna Skodborg Merrald/DEN, including second place in the 2019 Aachen Nations Cup and second place in the 2024 World Cup final in Riyadh/KSA. At the age of nine, he received elite stallion status and currently boasts ten licensed sons, one of which is Blue Hors Touch of Olympic L ridden by Nanna Skodborg Merrald/DEN and Sophia Ludvigsen/DEN, reserve world champion of dressage horses and now successfully competing in the international youngster tours. Five other offspring are successful Grand Prix competition horses, including Hansel/Ashley Holzer/USA and Uno Don Olympic/Anna Zibrandtsen/DEN.
Grand dam SRDH Duffy was awarded 844.5 points by the judges in her rideability test and selected for the Danish Elite Mare Show, where she won the silver medal.
This stallion is descended from Hanoverian Jadeluft dam line, which produced the stallions Dream Diamond (by Don Crusador), Forbes (by Fidertanz), a stallion by Deveraux and numerous other sports horses.
