Global Equestrian Group (GEG) has decided to sell it’s American property, Windsome Farm. July 15th, the horses and the entire team from Helgstrand Dressage USA (Helgstrand) moved back to Eagle Tree Farm, where Helgstrand was previously based.
GEG purchased Windsome Farm in 2020, and according to Andreas Helgstrand, the years at Windsome Farm have been excellent, elevating GEG’s brand to a new level. He looks forward to continuing US operation at Eagle Tree Farm with the fantastic team.
Olympic rider and trainer Lars Petersen and his wife dressage rider Melissa Taylor have been managing the location since 2022. They will continue and have moved with their team to Eagle Tree Farm, where they will train the many horses already in their care and still serve a broad segment of Helgstrand’s American clients.
"USA is an important market for us, and it is essential that we maintain a presence here," says Andreas Helgstrand. "Lars and Melissa have done an excellent job over the past two years, and it is natural for them to move back to Eagle Tree Farm with us, where we will continue to operate our sales and training stable. Helgstrand will remain a significant part of the dressage scene in Wellington, and we look forward to many more exciting years in Florida and serving our current and future clients," concludes Andreas Helgstrand.
“The sale of Windsome Farm is part of Global Equestrian Group’s new strategy to invest in horses, people, and businesses rather than real estate. This was also the reason for the sale of the German Gestüt Famos in Syke back in June. Further, investing in real estate in the US have been profitable in recent years, which is also a driver for the sale of Windsome Farm” states COO Casper Cassøe Krüth.
