Sezuan was the star at this year’s Danish Warmblood licensing. With such impressive movements, the black stallion, exhibited by his owners, Andreas Helgstrand/Denmark and the couple, Arlette Jasper-Kohl and Professor Edwin Kohl, quickly became the spectator’s darling in Herning/Denmark. At his 10-day test which he took afterward, also in Herning, Sezuan proved his outstanding rideability by receiving the highest scores. He moved into the Vice World Champion’s stallion stables where he has gained a reputation of being a magnet for mares.

Parentage verification carried out by the Danish Warmblood Verband has now shown that Blue Hors Romanov, who took sixth place on the team in the EC, is not his sire. His sire is the two-time Champion Stallion, Blue Hors Zack (by Rousseau-Jazz-Belisar), born in 2004, who has sired many highlights in sport and breeding.  Blue Hors Zack was the sire of three of the four premium stallions in total at the Danish licensing in 2012, including Zonik who is also stationed with Andreas Helgstrand.

“We were totally surprised about the result of parent verification. But that does not diminish the quality of our Sezuan in any way because he comes from one of today’s strongest performance mare lines and the top sires Blue Hors Zack, Blue Hors Don Schufro and Lionell are found in a direct line”, commented Andreas Helgstrand, in agreement with Arlette Jasper-Kohl and her husband, Edwin Kohl.

Today, Andreas is off to the huge, international show in Hagen. He is bringing the 10-year-old mare Polka Hit Nexen, and they will participate in the German Grand Prix tournament Louisdor-Preis. Furthermore, Andreas and the 8-year-old gelding Laetare will make their debut in the international 4-star Grand Prix. It will be Laetare's first appearance in an international field, and we are awaiting the result with great excitement.

Unfortunately, Andreas' other Grand Prix horse Tacolando Triple will not be at the show in Hagen, as he has not been feeling quite well the past couple of days.

This year's stallion show at Møgelmosegaard was a huge success. Approx. 1,500 people filled the indoor riding hall and contributed to a really great and warm atmosphere. All the stallions, including the four 3-years-old stallions, entered the packed riding hall with a cool overview, and they all made an optimum performance.

We are extremely grateful for the fantastic support we experienced last Saturday, with visitors from the entire Jutland, Funen and Zealand. In addition, it was a real pleasure to welcome so many foreign visitors from e.g. Sweden, Holland and Germany.

From Monday, videos of all the stallions from this year's stallion show will be available here on our webpage.

We are very pleased to welcome you to an exciting stallion show at Helgstrand Dressage.

This year, we have an extremely interesting stallion collection, counting stallions of very high quality. Among others, the 4-year-old Champion Stallion from Danish Warmblood Zonik, the 3-year-old Champion Stallion from the German Oldenburg Verband, Fürstenstein, and the 3-year-old Eclectrisch, who has just been approved as Champion Stallion in Holland, and naturally Sezuan, the top-notch stallion, everyone in Europe talks about. All stallions will be shown under saddle. During the presentation of each stallion, the audience is welcome to ask questions about the stallions. In addition to the stallion show, Andreas will have a clinic with one of his top horses.

The stallion show takes places on Saturday, April 14 at 1.00 p.m.

We look forward to welcoming breeders, riders and everyone with an interest in top horses to Møgelmosegaard.

Last weekend, Helgstrand Dressage and Cathrine Rasmussen from Kleppenhus in Ebeltoft, Denmark acquired the 2012 Champion Stallion of the German Oldenburger Verband. The 3-year-old stallion, Fürstenstein, has Fürst Romancier as sire, Hohenstein as dam sire and the legendary Donnerhall as great grand sire. At the licensing, he achieved e.g. 9.0 for trot and 9.5 for rideability.

Helgstrand Dressage also bought the 3-year-old Champion Stallion of the Dutch AES. This stallion, Eclectisch, is by Zenon with Olivi as dam sire.

Eclectisch will be presented at Danish Warmblood's licensing on April 12 2012.

Today, Sezuan has passed the 10-day test at Vilhelmsborg. He obtained the following remarks from the breeding and training management.

Behavior in stable: No remarks.

Behavior under rider/motivation: Very good rideability, a co-operative stallion which is unimpressed by the surroundings.

Walk: Clear rhythm and with good impulsion.

Trot: Supple, clear rhythm with good impulsion and good self-carriage. Good knee and hock action and a good up-hill tendency.

Canter: Huge, well-balanced and supple with a good up-hill tendency.

Conclusion: 1-year breeding approval for the year 2012.

Sezuan was energetic and ready today, when he arrived for the 10-day observation test at Vilhelmsborg. He was showing off, but balanced with a cool overview in the huge arena with his rider Emma Ahlberg.

We are crossing our fingers for at successful 10-day test, and look forward to having him home afterwards for a well-deserved vacation.
