In the qualifier for 5-year-old horses, riders from Helgstrand Dressage dominated the top of the class, which counted 40 horses and was judged by Vibeke Kjellerup Christensen.

The winner of the class was the World Champion from the World Championship for Young Horses in Ermelo 2016, with her brand new rider, Betina Jæger from Helgstrand Dressage, who has only had the horse at the stable a few days. Victoria's Secret by Vitalis / Fidermark obtained a total score of 9.14 and a capacity score of 9.4.

- It is really fantastic to ride a horse of this calibre; her tremendous rideability makes it possible to ride the show today, despite of the fact that we are not familiar with each other. I have great respect for Beatrice Buchwaldt's work with Victoria's Secret, says Betina Jæger.

The 5-year-old gold medal winner at the World Championship for Young Horses in Ermelo, the wonderful Victoria’s Secret, has been purchased for Denmark and is now on her way to Northern Jutland

The World Champion for 5-year-old dressage horses, the red Westfalian mare Victoria’s Secret by Vitalis / Fidermark has been purchased in collaboration between Helgstrand Dressage and Chateau de Fontaine by Danish Bolette Wandt; they are working together on an exciting breeding and sports project focusing on the best, young dressage mares in the world.

- Our goal is to get the best young horses in the world to Helgstrand Dressage, and Bolette and I have worked hard to acquire this unique horse ever since we saw it at the World Championship in Holland, says Andreas Helgstrand; he adds that the horse has been purchased with the intention to sell it at some point in future.

The goal is for the almost 180 cm mare to participate in the last qualifier for DRF’s dressage championship this weekend in Herning. As Andreas is at the Danish Championship for ponies with his son, Alexander, the same weekend, it will be the experienced Helgstrand rider Betina Jæger who gets the pleasure to ride the mare - and she will only have one day to practise!

- We really want to show this fantastic horse to the audience at the JBK show in Odense, and the last chance to qualify for the second round is this weekend, says Andreas.

Under Isabell Werth's student Beatrice Buchwald, Victoria’s Secret won the qualifier at the finals as well as the finals at the WCYH in Ermelo. In the finals, the mare received the following marks: 9.5 for trot, 9.3 for walk, 8.9 for canter, 9.8 for suppleness and 10.0 for capacity!

Last weekend it was time for Danish Warmblood's Elite show and a national show at Vilhelmsborg; three days with fantastic results:

Saturday morning, in Bundgaard Byg Intermediare I, Maik and Møllegårdens Pas Partout were the last combination in the class, and they showed everyone that they knew how to do this, obtaining 73.15% and finishing first in the class. In Intermediare II, Kenneth and Tailormade Lancelot placed second, scoring 69.82%.

The championship for 4-year-olds also took place, with 40 riders; we had four horses in this class and all four finished in top 10. Franklin foal - best dressage filly of the year

In addition to the national show, Danish Warmblood's Elite also show took place. Saturday, the spotlight was on all the fantastic foals; and several foals by Franklin made a very positive impression. This year's best filly was Francisca Lightfoot sired by Franklin and with Michellino as dam sire; Francisca Lightfoot is from the breeders Annette Lyngs and Torben Damsbo. In the final ring with the best colts, we also saw a wonderful foal by Franklin: Plushorses Perception from the breeder Laila Holm Gudmund Meyer.

Franklin foal - the most expensive foal at Danish Warmblood's Elite foal auction

This year's most expensive foal at the Elite foal auction was another foal by Franklin. The extremely well-proportioned filly Lissaus Ginger from the breeder Majbritt Lissau was sold to Norway at a price of DKK 350,000.

Straight Horse Sezuanna - Dressage Mare of the year

Sunday afternoon was very exciting, and quite busy for Emma, who showed four 3-year-old mares. Anne Marie showed one 3-year-old.

Straight Horse Sezuanna received the well-deserved title "Dressage Mare of 2016" and also a breeder's gold medal. Straight Horse Sezuanna is by Zack and with Don Schufro as dam sire, and his older brother is Sezuan - the three times world champion for young horses. Straight Horse Sezuanna's full sister, Straight Horse Ascenzione, also showed high class, and she received a breeder's silver medal.

Sezuanna by Sezuan and with Don Romantic as dam sire received a breeder's silver medal, as did Noomi Melody also by Sezuan and with Schwadroneur as dam sire. Miss Hafsjold by Sir Donnerhall II received a breeder's bronze medal.

Congratulations to all the skillful breeders on these amazing results.

Severo and Lorenzo must be "the perfect match"; they have had a fantastic first season at Grand Prix level, and they just seem to get better and better each time. Severo's goal was a ticket to OL in Rio, which he secured by winning a silver medal in the Spanish Championship.

After arriving in the Olympic city, Rio, Severo and Lorenzo's level has reached new heights. The pair made three outstanding performances, scoring 76.42% in Grand Prix, 77.47% in Grand Prix Special and 83.62% in Grand Prix Kür, obtaining an individual placing as 5th. We are so proud of Severo and Lorenzo; it is a truly amazing result! We are looking forward to having both of them home again, and we will of course make sure that they receive a memorable welcome.

In August, 7 of our mares participated in Danish Warmblood's saddle grading. At the beginning of August, Emma took three mares to Stutteri Ask for saddle grading. It went extremely well as the three mares finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Straight Horse Sezuanna became Champion Mare, she received three 10's; and Straight Horse Ascenzione finished 2nd, these two mares are full sisters and also full siblings to the DV stallion Sezuan. Finally, Sezuanna came in third in the group. All three mares were presented by Emma, and they are now ready for DV's elite show.

Last weekend, we went to Vilhelmsborg with four mares. Miss Hafsjold became Champion Mare and is on to the Elite show. Later the same day, Noomi Melody had the best riding test of the day, scoring 890 points, and she also qualified for the elite show.

We look forward to showing these lovely mares again at the end of August at Vilhelmsborg; at the same time several of our horses will be participating in the championship classes.

A successful World Breeding Dressage Championship for Young Horse is now finished. Our horses all made great performances. In the finals, Severo and Grand Galaxy Win finished 7th, scoring 8.46 points, Simone and Fine Time finished 11th with 8.26 points. In the class for 6-year-olds, Severo and Fiontini won a clear victory in the qualification round with 9.02 points, and they were on to the finals on Sunday. Franklin and Vincent Maranello both made great performances, but unfortunately they did not qualify for the finals for 6-year-olds.

Fürst William and Severo participated in the stallion class for 4-year-olds, and won a clear victory, scoring 9.20; he obtained e.g. a well-deserved 10 for canter.

Sunday in the finals for 6-year-old, Fiontini and Severo were the favourites, and the pair was under huge pressure before the start. However, they met the high expectations with a fantastic ride and finished with an impressive score of 9.58 points. We are so proud of Fiontini and Severo, who once again became World Champions.

This past weekend, Severo and his horse Lorenzo represented his country Spain at the huge international show in Aachen. Thursday in the Grand Prix, they placed 6th with a score of 74.35%. Saturday, the pair once again finished 6th, this time in the Grand Prix Special, scoring 76.17%. In the Grand Prix Kür Saturday, the pair made another fantastic performance, finishing 4th in the class with the impressive score: 83.35%!!!

Team Helgstrand is very proud of these fantastic results. Now the ticket to OL in Rio must be a sure bet.

Saturday, Severo and Grand Galaxy Win participated in the last round of the selection for the WCYH in Ermelo. Grand Galaxy Win made great and stable performances both days, showing lots of energy. The pair was selected for the group of 5-year-old horses for KWPN.

As a result, we now have 7 horses participating in Ermelo, when the competition starts on July 28. Severo will be very busy as he will be participating with 5 horses: Fürst William in a stallion class for 4-year-olds; Grand Galaxy win and Rockson in the WCYH for 5-year-olds: and Franklin and Fiontina in the WCYH for 6-year-olds. Thomas and Vincent Maranello will again this year participate in the WCYH, this year in the group of 6-year-old horses. Simone Pearce and Fine Time will participate in the WCYH for 5-year-old horses.

We are incredibly proud that 4 of our licensed stallions will participate in this prestigious show.
