Franklin Revolution

Pictured: Andreas and Revolution and Betina and Franklin.

Once a year, you can apply for the status of elite stallions, and the Danish Warmblood breeding commission will have a look at the performances of the stallions and the offspring as well. Because of the amazing results already, only 8-year-old Revolution by Rocky Lee/Rouletto and 11-year-old Franklin by Ampére/Ferro have been awarded Elite Stallions in Danish Warmblood as the first stallions in the history of Helgstrand.

- We are incredibly proud that the stallions have been appointed Elite Stallions. They have both done extremely well at shows, and the many great results that the offspring have achieved at foal and mare shows, stallion licensing etc. speak for itself. This is the first time that our stallions achieved this, and therefore it is something very special, says Andreas Helgstrand.

Elite Stallion at the age of 8

Revolution became World Champion of the 5-year-old horses in Ermelo and took home a silver medal the following year. At the finals of the Danish Young Horse Championship, he won gold as 4-, 5- and 6-year-old and is now successful at small tour level under Andreas Helgstrand.

Looking at Revolution’s offspring, he sired already 43 mares graded in Danish Warmblood, of which 95% have received the highest grading in Danish Warmblood and 21% were awarded a breeder medal.

Revolution sired the Danish Warmblood gold medal mares, Roxette (damsire: Quite Easy, breeder: Stutteri Sorgenfri) and Valerie B (damsire: Zack, breeder: Karin and Peer Guldbranden), which also was awarded Mare of the Year 2021. In addition, 3 silver medal mares; Rikki Tikki-Vitz (damsire: Van Gogh, breeder: Lone Sørensen), Blaze Von Rosing (damsire: Zack, breeder: Maria von Rosing) and Åtoften’s Revolina (damsire: Zack, breeder: Annette Bugge and Claus Hansen) as well as 4 bronze medal mares; Gørklintgård’s Graciosa (damsire: Sandro Hit, breeder: Jørgen Ravn), Kastaniegården’s Philina (damsire: Prince Thatch, breeder: Bruno Hindkjær), Terpling’s Ravena DWB (damsire: Weltjunge, breeder: Heima Poulsen) and Jestis La-Noblesse (damsire: Akinos, breeder: Stutteri Jesti).

Among the talented stallions so far, he sired Hesselhøj Rock A Billy (damsire: Hertug, breeder: Jane and Erik Bech Jensen), Rockabye S (damsire: Belstaff, breeder: Sally-Ann Hjorth Schultz), Straight Horse Ramses (damsire: Zack, breeder: Straight Horse), Renomé (damsire: Sieger Hit, breeder: Minna Petersen and Thorkild Karger), Radius (damsire: 00 Seven, breeder: Lena Nystrøm) and Midt-West Evolution (damsire: Jazz, breeder: Stutteri Midt-West) as well as Gørklintgård’s Royal (damsire: Sunny-Boy, breeder: Jørgen Ravn).

In total 5 horses have qualified for the Danish Young Horse Championships; Hesselhøj Rock A Billy, Revel Enshøj (damsire: Uno Don Diege, breeder: Klaus Fogh), Rally Von Rosing (damsire: Tailormade Temptation, breeder: Maria von Rosing), Rockabye S and Roxette.

Franklin with impressive breeding results

Franklin participated at the World Young Horse Championships at the age of 5 and placed 3rd at the Danish Young Horse Championships the same year. Now he is very successful under Betina Jæger at small tour level.

Among the successful offspring so far, we have Danish Warmblood Gold Medal Mare and Best Dressage Filly, Faretti DWB by Franklin/Don Frederico (breeder: Henrik Hansen), which was sold for no less than 150,000 euros at the Nordic International Sales auction during the international show Equitour in 2017. Her full-sister Faretti II DWB was sold to the highest price the following year (breeder: Henrik Hansen). At the Danish Warmblood Elite Mare Show this year, Fairy DWB (damsire: Don Romantic, breeder: Lisbeth B. Andersen) and Straight Horse Floriana (damsire: Zack, breeder: Straight Horse) received a silver medal, while Straight Horse Fellini (damsire: Jazz, breeder: Straight Horse) was awarded a bronze medal. Moreover, Francisca Lightfoot (damsire: Michellino, breeder: Stutteri Lightfoot) was awarded a gold medal and crowned Best Dressage Filly in Danish Warmblood.

Franklin also sired Fair Deal (damsire: Fürstenball, breeder: Gestüt Lewitz), which is part of the 2021 Helgstrand-Schockemöhle stallion collection, Franklin's Love PS (damsire: Sandro Hit, breeder: Gestüt Lewitz) and the KWPN Vice Champion Stallion Kadans (damsire: Jazz, breeder: G.J. With Helgstrand rider Betina Jæger in the saddle, this stallion has developed quite exceptionally. The beautiful paces and sublime elasticity as well as the ultra-modern type characterize not only Franklin (Ampére/Ferro) himself, but his offspring as well. At Danish Warmblood licensing shows, foal and mare shows his offspring have shown enormous qualities for the future and several times they have been awarded the highest gradings. And looking at the mares, he sired already 66 mares graded in Danish Warmblood, of which 86% received the highest grading in Danish Warmblood and 17% of these magnificent offspring have received the recognized breeder medal.

Helgstrand has been the perfect setting for the Danish Dressage Championships for the past three years, which the Danish Equestrian Federation has just confirmed by granting Helgstrand another three years of hosting the championships. A decision that aligns perfectly with the Global Equestrian Group's increased focus on hosting shows in Denmark as well as in Germany and the US.

It has not been long since Helgstrand's new Head of Event & Partnership, Martin Thorbøll Pedersen, stepped in the door, and one of his first tasks was to ensure another three years of hosting the Danish Dressage Championships at Helgstrand, which is now a reality.

- The great collaboration with the Danish Equestrian Federation has been a good starting point for the big visions we have for events at Helgstrand. We have been in dialogue about several shows, and I am pleased to be able to unveil that in addition to the Danish Dressage Championships and the EEF Nations Cup in jumping, we will favour the non-elite with the other shows currently in our pipeline, says Martin Thorbøll Pedersen, Head of Event & Partnership at Helgstrand Dressage.

The venue at Helgstrand provides the perfect setting for national and international competitions alike, and since its establishment, the venue has been expanded yearly in accordance with new ambitions and visions.

- We have many ideas on the drawing board, and our goal is to create the best conditions for good experiences and at the same time to include the non-elite much more. We are working on being able to offer both jumping and dressage competitions at B and C level, which has set in motion a natural rebranding process, as we are now going to host more shows than just Equitour. Therefore, we are looking forward to presenting the new setup soon, Martin Thorbøll Pedersen adds.

The Global Equestrian Group has recently added two more venues to the portfolio, which alongside Helgstrand Academy will be the setting of unique shows across the world.

- We see a great synergy in expanding our business with show activities. And with the acquisitions of Riesenbeck International in Germany and the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, US, in addition to Helgstrand Academy, we have developed a setup that favours riders in most of the world. Following two challenging years with COVID, we are really looking forward to seeing you at the showgrounds and feel the atmosphere from the packed stands again, Andreas Helgstrand says.

The dates of the Danish Dressage Championships, which include the Danish Championships for seniors, U25 and Para Dressage, are yet to be determined, but the show will most likely be at the end of May or in the beginning of June 2022.
