Thomas and Angrib Firfod ended up exceeding all expectations at the CDI show in Norway, even though the CDI was only their third show together. On Monday, they had their debut in Grand Prix, and they won the class with 70.74%. Tuesday night, it was time for Grand Prix Special, and once again the competitors did not stand a chance as Thomas and Angrib Firfod finished with the highest score in the class: 69.45%. Wednesday night, the six best equipages from Grand Prix competed in Grand Prix kür. This was also Thomas and Angrib Firfod's debut in kür, however, they continued to shine and won the class with an impressive score of 73.32%.

This week, the CDI 3* show in Vestfold in Norway takes place. Thomas and Angrib Firfod are participating in the show. Last night, they had their international debut in Grand Prix. A great performance resulted in a score of 70.74%, and victory in the class.

Thomas and Angrib Firfod will start the Grand Prix Special tonight; we will, of course, keep our fingers crossed for a good result.

In January, Helgstrand Dressage bought yet another exciting 3-year-old stallion. This stallion is by Jazz and with Ferro as Dam sire. He has already been licensed in the German Oldenburger Verband and will be presented at Danish Warmblood's stallion show in March. He is now at our stables, and he looks very promising. We are, of course, looking forward to presenting this stallion in Herning.

The 3-year-old stallion Gladstone, who was accepted yesterday at KWPN's late licensing, will also be presented in Herning. Gladstone is by Andretti and the dam sire is Krack C.

During the weekend, some of the riders from team Helgstrand participated in the regional show in Aalborg. Saturday night, Daniel and De Cherico started the MA1 and won the class with an impressive score of 71.25%. Sunday, Severo and Daniel started the Prix St. George. They both made excellent performances;  Severo and Zaragossa obtained a clear victory, scoring 76.31%. Daniel and De Cherico placed second with a score of 70.92%.

Our 3-year-old stallion Valerian has just been selected for the German Oldenburger Verband's under saddle licensing, taking place at the beginning of April. Valerian is by the Dutch stallion Vivaldi and with Florestan I as dam sire. We are looking forward to the licensing and crossing our fingers for a good result.

At the national show in Esbjerg during the weekend, our master rider student Charlotte started the Prix St. George with Dankeschön and finished 6th with a score of 68.02%. Sunday, the equipage started the Intermediare I and placed third, scoring 68.42%. Severo was also at the show in Esbjerg on Saturday and has his debut in Grand Prix with N.O.H's Daijoubo; they obtained 64.50%.

In addition, our master rider student Jens participated in Sydthy Rideklub's Prix St. George with Willesimia. It was worth the trip, as they won the class with a score of 66.44%.

Helgstrand Dressage has just closed an exceptional deal; as we have sold five top horses to Sara Marburg from Germany. The German Grand Prix rider Anja Plönzke and the rest of the dressage team Marburg will be in charge of training the five horses and participating in shows. The deal concerns the following five horses:

  • Marburg's Polka Hit, 12-year-old mare, silver winner at WCYH as a 6-year-old. Very successful in Small Tour, at both national and international shows. Winner of Grand Prix.
  • Marburg's Stevie Wonder, 8-year-old gelding, on his way to Grand Prix.
  • Marburg's Didando, 6-year-old stallion, finalist at DRF's dressage championship for 5-year-old horses, WCYH reserve for Holland in 2013.
  • Marburg's Floricello, 6-year-old stallion, silver winner at WCYH as a 5-year-old, winner of Scandinavian Open for 5-year-old horses in Falsterbo.
  • Marburg's Zardetto, 5-year-old gelding, finalist at DRF's dressage championship for 4-year-old horses, winner of ability test with 910 points.

We are extremely proud of this deal concerning sale of these top-notch horses to dressage team Marburg. At the same time, we are happy that the horses will be able to continue their positive development at a stable with professional riders. We look forward to following team Marburg in the years to come. Helgstrand Dressage congratulates team Marburg and we wish them the best of luck in future with these wonderful horses.

The riders from Helgstrand Dressage have been at the national show at Hjallerup Rideklub almost all weekend. Friday afternoon, five of the riders started the MA2. Daniel and Capo Knight placed second with a nice score of 70.658%. Andreas and Tailormade Lancelot finished right behind as third, scoring 70.351%, Marianne and Sitana placed fourth with 70.157. Charlotte and Dankeschön, and Jens and Vilgot also started this class and finished just outside the placings.

The last class on Friday was Intermediare II. In this class, Helgstrand Dressage almost swept the board; Andreas and Darlings Dream won a clear victory with a score of 74.211%. Daniel and Versace came in second with 72.434%. Thomas and Angrib Firfod placed fourth with 69.474%.

Saturday morning, Marianne and Daylie started the MB2, they made a great performance and obtained 70.570%, finishing second in the class.

We received a lot of snow Friday morning, and due to the weather conditions, we decided Saturday afternoon, that it was too risky to transport the horses to Hjallerup; and consequently, we had to withdraw several horses in Grand Prix, Prix St. George and Intermediare I on Sunday morning.

In Sunday's Grand Prix Special, we were once again superior; Andreas and Darlings Dream took the lead again and won the class with the impressive score of 73.497%. Thomas and Angrib Firfod finished second with 71.438%. Finally, Severo and Meister finished third, scoring 67.778%.

Jens and Vilgot started MA1 in the afternoon, and their excellent performance was rewarded with 71.204%, which was enough to finish second in the class. Marianne and Sitana obtained 69.167% and finished third. Jens also placed fourth in the class with Atterupgaards Final Kiss, scoring 68.426%.

It was an excellent and well-organized show at Hjallerup Rideklub. It was obviously quite frustrating that we had to withdraw a lot of the horses due to the weather; however, the safety of the horses is of course our top priority.

Fennovanck, who is now 4 years old, started Danish Warmblood's 35-day test yesterday. Fennovanck PP is by Uphill with Münchhausen as dam sire. We are crossing our fingers for a good test, and we hope that he will be licensed at Danish Warmblood's stallion show in March.

At Danish Warmblood's stallion pre-selection during the weekend, two of our 3-year-old stallions and one 4-year-old stallion were selected for the stallion show in Herning in March. The two 3-year-old stallions are: Sweet Boy by San Amour with Depardieu as dam sire, and Quantum Theory by Quaterback with Prince Thatch XX as dam sire. The 4-year-old stallion is Zermillo by Zuidenwind with Grundsee XX as dam sire.

We are looking forward to presenting the stallions again at the stallion show in Herning.
