The media did already reveal some details about our new employment, but we think now is the time to get a deeper look into the new and very strong profile at Helgstrand, the English top rider and international trainer Emile Faurie.

- Through the years we have seen an increasing request from the English market which has led us to this new corporation with one of Great Britain’s finest dressage riders. It is a privilege to welcome Emile to our team, Andreas says and is very pleased to be able to offer this exceptional service to the English clients.

Emile has represented Great Britain at both the World and the European Championships and at the Olympics. He started out at the internationally known P.S.I-auction that really lead the way to his career and in 1993 Emile had his international breakthrough with the horse Virtu. They won an individual Bronze Medal and a Team Silver Medal at the European Championship in Hippica. Since then he has won a number of medals that shows his unique ability as a dressage rider. After two years at Hoff Kasselmann, where Emile participated in the World Championship in Tryon and the European Championship in Gothenburg with Lollipop, which is now ridden by Marianne Helgstrand, Emile has now chosen to become a part of Helgstrand Dressage.

- There can be no doubt about the quality that Emile represents. He has led riders to numerous victories, judged competitions at a high level and has due to his achievements a broad network which Helgstrand can benefit from. We are therefore really pleased that Emile educates several of our horses and present these at the English market, Andreas tells.

- I have achieved some of the goals that I had regarding competitions and championships around the world. To me, it is very important to be able to help new talents on their way to success and therefore teaching has become an essential role in my work life. Andreas’s talent for spotting and buying the right horses is really something we can benefit from here in the UK and it can add the quality needed in Great Britain. I experience an increasing demand for these horses and are therefore very pleased with this corporation. I decided to join Andreas and his team because of his integrity as a person and his drive to ensure every rider that buys a horse from Helgstrand Dressage gets the right and most suitable one for them. Emile Faurie tells. He still maintains his own riding in the daily training and education of the horses.

Emile Faurie lives at Heath Farm in Oxfordshire which is located only an hour from London. From here we now offer four horses to the English market and in the near future, we expect the number of horses will increase.

The COVID19-virus has cast a large shadow over the Danish business and economy. Here at Helgstrand Dressage, the time is now spent on strengthening the organization further by employing Morten Bradsted Nielsen as the new CFO. Morten has a very impressive CV which counts several senior management positions in internationally acknowledged companies. The new CFO shall contribute to expanding Helgstrand both on the position in the market and with the positive expansion the company experience.

Helgstrand Dressage is still a rather new company, but it belongs to some of the leading equestrian companies in the world. One by one Helgstrand adds some of the largest profiles to the organization, which already counts several prominent employees, such as Dr. Ulf Möller from Hof Kasselmann and Esben Møller from Blue Hors. Now Helgstrand can proudly present the newest employment a CFO with great international experience that can guide Helgstrand Dressage through the next step in the company’s development and expansion.

- We want the very best, to secure us being the very best we can. When Waterland Private Equity bought a part of Helgstrand the ambitions grew in becoming the leading equestrian company, but this demands skilled employees in order to fulfil the ambition. I am very pleased to welcome Morten, who can contribute with his analytical and financial experience due to his position as a chief financial officer in international acknowledge companies, Andreas tells.

Morten Bradsted Nielsen’s experience includes senior management positions in various business’ from advertising to dairy companies and to a SaaS company. In all of these positions, his key assignment has been as a strategic partner for the management of the companies, to provide the necessary analytic insight and prioritize the commercial expansion opportunities in the light of a profitable and sustainable perspective.

- I must admit that I am not particularly familiar with the equestrian world, but I look very much forward to become a part of it and especially together with this very passionate team, that strives Helgstrand. I am very impressed with all of what the company has already achieved and I look forward to diving into the business model of Helgstrand and contribute with my experience in order to honour the ambitious expansion plan, Morten Bradsted Nielsen says.

The Spanish dressage talent Severo Jurado Lopez has won us all over with his magnificent achievements in the dressage arena and with his charming personality. But now an era has come to an end at Helgstrand Dressage, and they have to say goodbye – or very luckily only partly goodbye to Severo, who has chosen to dedicate his time to a new and exciting project.

- The last 7 years has truly been an adventure for both Severo and Helgstrand, but we know that everything has an ending and a number of our riders start up on their own when they have got the experience and reputation that it takes. It is with a heavy heart that we have to say goodbye to such a talented and skilled rider but luckily we have had the pleasure of working with Severo for many years and are therefore very happy for him, Andreas Helgstrand tells.

Many people will surely remember it like it was yesterday, where Severo danced his way up the centerline and spellbound the audience at the Olympic Games in Rio together with Lorenzo in 2016. We were for sure many sitting with goosebumps when the characters for Severo and Lorenzo came on and it was inedible that they placed on an impressive 5th place. At that moment he won us all over and we felt like it was a victory for Denmark. Until this day, it is the most unique moment that stands out in Severo’s mind, when we ask him.

- I felt that the time was right to start a new chapter after having built up my experience and great network through Helgstrand. I am deeply grateful for the trust that Andreas has given me and the many opportunities I have had here. In particular, the many international competitions where the Olympic Games with Lorenzo is among one of the biggest moments of my life and then of course the three gold medals with Fiontini and two gold medals with D’avie at the World Championships for Young Horses, Severo tells.

- I will miss the team and the unique spirit that we have here at Helgstrand and of course the many great horses. There is no doubt that especially D’avie and Fiontini has a special place in my heart and I am very pleased to hear that Andreas will take over the reins and continue the education of these two horses, Severo adds with a smile.

Some probably wonder if Severo will go back to sunshine and Spanish rhythms but luckily, we will still be able to meet him at the Danish competitions.

- Fortunately, we do only say partly goodbye to Severo, since we have started a corporation regarding the training of some of our horses, Andreas tells - this is an opportunity that only a few people get.

- Helgstrand has always had the pleasure of working with the best riders and fortunately, we have a strong team and some new talented riders on the way, Andreas tells and he is looking very much forward to the competitions starting again.

Severo Jurado Lopez has his last day at Helgstrand the 30st of April 2020.

We invite you to meet us at Helgstrand Academy three afternoons throughout the summer. Dependent on the situation we will take all necessary precautions regarding the COVID-19.

The World Championships for Young Horse is fast approaching and although the COVID-19 has changed the selection procedure that we know, we are now proud to announce that the following combinations are selected for the final inspection for the Dutch bred horses in KWPN:

- We are proud that 4 out of 5 horses selected are breeding stallions. This confirms that we have included some of the world's best stallions in our breeding program, says Andreas.

The selection of the horses was done by each horse riding a program which has been filmed and submitted to the selection committee.

Now we hope the horses will be selected to participate in the prestigious World Championships for Young Horses, which we hope will take place in 2020.

As Andreas Helgstrand has earlier stated, the horse world never sleeps – and especially not in these times, where it is important to find new strategies that can secure the future. In the light of this Helgstrand can now add another very skilled rider to the team, Danish Michael Grønne Christensen whom many will know from his successful years as a leader for the riding school in Sønderborg.

- The market changes all the time and right now we experience an increasing demand for well-educated horses. When I found out that Michael, whom I know from the education for professional riders, was seeking new opportunities, I immediately contacted him. He has done very well in Sønderborg and has in addition really shown at competitions, that he has the ability to educate horses with great success, Thomas Sigtenbjerggaard tells.

Michael Grønne Christensen comes from Sønderborg and finished his education in 2009. He spent the first 3 years of his education at the riding school in Sønderborg under the training from Lars Ringkær and after that at Mors in training with Per Skærbæk. After Michael finished his education, he returned to the riding school in Sønderborg in position as a leader and here he also trained riders and educated horses with great success.

Among Michaels greatest achievements are the victories in the Young Horse Championships. He has won both the Danish and the Norwegian Championship for the four-year-old horses with the licensed stallion Tailormade Temptation by Tuschinski/Haarlem and other than that, he won the Danish Championship for five-year-old horses with the Gold Medal mare Holballe’s Deeba by De Noir/Resident. Michael educated Deeba with great success and the mare had its debut in Grand Prix at the age of 9 and they participated in the Danish Championship the year after. Michael has a long list of victories at Small Tour-level and has also competed several times in Grand Prix.

In 2019 Michael chose to replace his role as a leader and dedicated himself to be a full-time professional rider in Germany. Unfortunately, the owner of the sales stable had to shut down the company for personal reasons.

- My time at the riding school in Sønderborg has given me much experience into the management of such a place and I felt it was time to dedicate my work to educate horses full-time which I got confirmed in Germany was the right decision. When the opportunity at Helgstrand came I immediately said yes. I look very much forward to be a part of such a strong team of riders and enjoy learning and helping each other on the team, Michael Grønne Christensen tells.

- Helgstrand is to me the centre in the Equestrian World. I look at it this way; if you are a race driver, you want to be a part of the Ferrari team, which is the most successful F1 team – Helgstrand is the Formula 1’s edition of Ferrari. Here I will find the absolute best horses and riders and I look very much forward to dedicate my time and passion 100% to the education of the horses and learn from the great team at Helgstrand, Michael says.

A long list of events is being cancelled and in the light of that we chose, last week to present new videos of all our stallions to hopefully make the selection of a stallion easier. We fear that the current situation and the following consequences will influence our breeders regarding the sale of their foal(s). This is the reason why we will now offer our breeders to make sales material for free because we hope that this can facilitate the sales process, Andreas tells.

We invite you to meet us at Helgstrand Academy three afternoons throughout the summer. These days our skilled breeding consultants will be ready to produce professional videos of the foals which shows their quality in the finest way. Dependent on the situation we will take all necessary precautions regarding the COVID-19.

- Some might not have the right equipment or ability to produce efficient sales material of their foals and therefore we wish to provide this service to our customers and of course we hope that many will use this opportunity. Other than that, we will gladly use our network and communicate contact to potential buyers, Andreas tells.

It has been a very tough decision for us at Helgstrand, but due to the current COVID-19 virus situation, we have come to the conclusion that we have to cancel our yearly stallion show the 4th of April in order to follow the restrictions from the Danish government.

“We have come to the conclusion that it is necessary to cancel the stallion show held together with our German partner, Paul Schockemöhle. We hope that we will be able to complete the event in May. The date is yet to be determined because we will wait and see how the situation develops in the weeks to come”, Andreas says.

New videos of the stallions with clips from the stables and breeding advices

Because we are not able to show this year’s collection of stallions, we have decided to produce some brand new videos of the stallions that both shows them under rider and will contain clips from the stables, show every stallions finest qualities and any weaknesses and other than that which mares they could match.

“We know that the videos are not the same as seeing the stallions live at the event, but we hope that they will give a fine impression of the stallions especially the young ones. We can’t wait to tell you more about these young talented stallions”, Andreas tells.

It has been a couple of very exciting days at this year's stallion licensing in Herning, and here on the final day the tension finally reached its end with which new stallions from Helgstrand, who will be part of the danish breeding. At the same time, this years' premium and champion stallions were announced.

The 3-year-old stallions had all showed themselves nicely, both at the showing on solid ground, lunging, as well as showing them free, and today Helgstrand could proudly send a total of 15 3-year-old stallions to the preparation for the 10-day test, which is the admission for a 1-year approval in DWB.

Global Player announced champion stallion

The 4-year-old stallions, who got their final approval in DWB was shown under rider on the last day, the excitement not only came from the licensing committee but also the audience, who clearly saw how well the stallions had developed since last years stallion licensing. It was the Grand Galaxy Win-son, Global Player (breeder HH Horses), who received the title as Champion stallion in Danish Warmblood. A beautiful young stallion with 3 incredible gaits and modern expression. Global Players damsire is the legendary Don Schufro.

Galaxy-offspring is the best danish bred dressage stallion 2 years in a row

As the best danish bred dressage stallion we find another offspring by Grand Galaxy Win, Giovanny-Bell, whose damsire is Don Romantic. Giovanny-Bell is bred by Tina and Nicolai Jepsen. But not only did a Galaxy offspring win the title this year, but last year was also a Galaxy offspring, Got it by Grand Galaxy Win/Don Schufro.

In general, there have been many impressive offspring presented at this year's stallion licensing, and in particular, Revolution has added 5 newly approved sons to DWB. But also Franklin was represented besides Grand Galaxy Win. In the sport, Galaxy has also been represented, since both the A- and B-finals in the young horses' championship was won by offspring by Galaxy:

• A-final: Grand Galiano by GGW/Don Schufro, ridden by Rikke Dupont.
• B-final: Logos Gaya by GGW/Don Romantic, ridden by Emma Ahlberg.

But in the young horse championship, Helgstrand was not only represented with offspring by Helgstrand stallions or former Helgstrand stallions. Maria Anita Andersen and Atterupgaards Spidermann by Seebach/Stedinger came in 4th in the A-finals and received 10 for trot, 8,5 for canter, 9 for perspective in the gait review, along with 9,5 in submission and 9 for perspective by the test-rider, Daniel Bachman Andersen. Our student master rider, Frederikke Skelmose, came in 2nd in the B-final with Revolution Nobel by Franklin/Solos Landwind, and the Helgstrand rider, Mette Sejbjerg, was placed as number 9 on her own horse, Nobelle by Future Jazz/Negro.

Exactly at 7.30 pm, everyone was seated at the grandstands and the expectations for the evenings gala show was without a doubt high, with the exciting theme: Let the games begin! Amongst the highlights of the evening was without a doubt the Olympic bronze-medal team from Hong King, whom at once got us back to 2008 - to the moment we realized that Denmark had won an Olympic bronze medal. The feature started with a humorous interview with the Danish Warmblood chairman, Casper Cassør, before Princess Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein and Blue Hors Zee Me Blue, Anne Van Olst and Diego, and Andreas Helgstrand and Ferrari OLD entered the arena. The audience was enchanted while the riders performed their show, and the applause would seem to never end when the three riders ended the show in the finest way.

There were gold and glitter beyond imagination at the evenings show, and especially when the 4 gold medal mares and their rider entered the Jyske Bank Box; JJ Filippa and Cecilie Schilbred, Filuca S and Malene Serve, Gørklintgårds Brody and Bettina Laisbo, and Greven’s Sa’ Va’ and Alexander. A well put-together show, that clearly showed the high quality of the mares when they gracefully performed different dressage exercises.

The next performance from Helgstrand was an homage to the World Champion, D'avie, and his rider, Severo, who was wearing a red tanktop and boxing gloves. As a true champion, they danced around the boxing arena with the ring girls riding around them.

In the end, 6 of the breeding stallions from Helgstrand entered the arena wearing skiwear, symbolizing the Winter Olympics. With Anne-Marie and Janeiro Platinum, Mette and Suarez, Eva and Valverde, Severo and Springbank II VH, Søren and Quaterhit, and Thomas and Kardieno, the features from Helgstrand ended in the best way possible.

Besides that, there were costume jumping, equestrian vaulting, gymnastics show, dog racing, and much more.
