A busy weekend with long days, and riding from dawn till dusk is now over, and fortunately with satisfying results for Helgstrand Dressage.

Saturday, Zonik totally outshined the other horses in his class. With Andreas in the saddle, Zonik showed his outstanding gaits and high rideability. As in the qualifier earlier this year, he once again obtained a well-deserved 10 for trot, 9.0 for walk, 9.3 for canter, 9.5 for rideability and 9.5 for capacity, resulting in a total score of 9.46 points. Andreas and Zonik won the class for 4-year-olds and are on to this year's final at the JBK Horseshows. Sofia and Delicious placed 14th with 8.50 points. Mads and Zigzag A.B. placed 16th with 8.36 points. Delicious and Zigzag A.B. are, therefore, also on to the final.

Yesterday, the 5-year-old horses competed. Andreas also won first place in this class, this time with Møllegårdens Pas Partout. They achieved e.g. 9.5 for canter and finished with a total of 9.16 points. Anna and Bøgegårdens Boney M placed 4th, scoring 8.52 points. Andreas and Sir Caramello placed 5th, with a score of 8.50 points. Andrea and Donna Von Wald placed 8th, scoring 8.42 points. Jessica Greelish and Cavalia placed 11th, scoring 8.34 points. Finally, Andrea and Wilkinson finished just outside the placing with a score of 8.32 points. Consequently, all seven 5-year-old horses are on to the final.

In the class for 6-year-old horses, Andreas and Don Primeur were unfortunately beaten by 0.02 points and had to settle for second place, obtaining 8.42 points. Anna and Star Agent placed 3rd, scoring 8.40 points. Mads and Dark Knight obtained a shared 4th place with 8.38 points. Right after Mads, Anette and Deep Love placed 6th with 8.26 points. Anna and Rosenstolz placed 7th with 8.22 points. The last placing, as 9th, was awarded to Jens and Atterupgårds Final Kiss with 8.16 points. All six 6-year-old horses are, therefore, also on to the final.

All in all a very good weekend with nice results. We are now looking forward to the finals in the middle of October.

This weekend, the next round of this year's championships takes place. Saturday morning, all the 4-year-old horses will compete and Sunday, the 5- and 6-year-old horses will compete to win one of the attractive tickets for the final at the JBK-horseshow.

We are bringing 23 horses to Middelfart this year, and it is obviously quite a logistic puzzle to transport so many horses. The large caravan with a total of 15 horses sets off at 3 p.m. today. The caravan consists of 2 large trucks with 5 and 6 horses, respectively, 1 small truck with 2 horses and a trailer with equipment, and finally a car with trailer and 2 horses. Tomorrow, we will transport 8 of the 4-year-old horses back home, and also, transport the last 8 horses down to Middelfart.

We are looking forward to a good and successful show with good results.

Yesterday, breeders' medals were awarded to the best 3- and 4-year-old mares, invited to the Danish Warmblood Elite show. Emma and Sofia showed 2 mares each. The licensed stallion Bøgegårdens Boney M and Anna were showing off at Youngster Cup at Vilhelmsborg last Saturday. They made a flawless performance, dancing through the test. They were awarded quite impressive points, e.g. 9.8 for both walk and rideability, and they obtained a total score of 9.18 points. A great performance, which is promising for the next round of the dressage championship the coming weekend.

In the class for 6-year-old horses, Sir Donnerhall II and Thomas participated. They also did really well, and received great scores, e.g. 9.5 for canter and 9.0 for rideability. They finished with a total score of 8.94 points, placing 2nd in the class.

Yesterday morning, Sezuan started his longest journey so far, heading to the Peterhof stud in Germany, where co-owners of Sezuan, Arlette Jasper-Kohl and Edwin Kohl have their riding facilities. This weekend, a 4**** CDI show takes place at Peterhof. Tomorrow afternoon starts out with a gala show, and later on, the international Grand Prix Kür. Sezuan and Emma will participate with a short clinic, where Andreas will explain and help demonstrate the training of Sezuan.

This weekend, the Danish Warmblood Elite show and Youngster Cup take place at Vilhelmsborg. Helgstrand Dressage is bringing 4 medal candidates for the Elite show. Anna and the licensed stallion Bøgegårdens Boney M will compete in the class for 5-year-old and Thomas and Sir Donnerhall II, who is also licensed in Danish Warmblood, will compete in the class for 6-year-olds.

Today, Team Helgstrand needed much more that excellent riding skills to get through the day. After the usual horse activities, the Event company PulsEvent had planned a challenging afternoon for the whole team. 6 teams competed in e.g. multi-tasking relay and different ball games - it turned out that several of the team members were not exactly gifted ball players!

However, all the teams were very enthusiastic and dedicated. In the end, team 4, alias: Alexander, Anna, Charlotte and Andreas obtained the most points and won the competition.

In order to celebrate Thomas' bronze medal for 6-year-olds at WCYH in Verden this year, he ended the afternoon with "a swim" in the lake at Møgelmosegaard; quite a good alternative to an ordinary water jump.

A fun and challenging day for everyone at Team Helgstrand.

When the next round of the championships takes place in Middelfart in three weeks, numerous horses and riders will be representing Helgstrand Dressage in all three classes. A total of 29 horses have qualified, counting several horses in each age group. However, not all 29 horses will participate in Middelfart, as some of the horses have been sold by now, and four horses have qualified directly through their participation in the WCYH in Verden. During the summer period, Helgstrand Dressage has won a total of 12 qualification classes, and in addition, riders from Helgstrand Dressage have placed second or third in many classes. It is, therefore, fair to say that Helgstrand Dressage has left a significant mark on this year's championships so far, and the riders will do everything possible to continue this trend in the next round.

Right now, the following number of horses will compete to go on to the finals: ten 4-year-old horses, six 5-year-old horses and six 6-year-old horses. We look forward to presenting all the horses, and we wish good luck to all the horse owners.

Zonik and Andreas qualified for the next round with 9.66 points.

Mare grading in Hjallerup - 4 champion mares out of 4

Today, the annual mare grading in Danish Warmblood took place in Hjallerup. Helgstrand Dressage presented four 3-year-old mares and three 4-year-old mares during the day. In the first group, Logslund Pleasure won the title as champion mare, and she did really well in the riding test, obtaining e.g. 9.5 in rideability, Emma did a good job presenting Pleasure. Qinky Langholt placed right after as second, nicely presented by Sofia, both mares are on to the Elite show in 2 weeks.

The next group included the 4-year-old Delice Eden and her rider Emma. Helgstrand Dressage turned out to be superior in this group as well, with another champion mare. However, unfortunately, Delice Eden was not invited to the Elite show, as she is not registered in Danish Warmblood. The third group counted the two 3-year-old mares, Barbie Girl and Netstutteriets Brilliant. Sofia presented Barbie Girl, who earned the title champion mare and a ticket to the Elite show. Netstutteriets Brilliant, presented by Emma, placed second right after Barbie Girl.

The last group was another group of 4-year-old horses, and this group included Tørveslettens Quattro and Dunaway. Yet again, we won the champion mare title as well as the second place in this group. Tørveslettens Quattro, presented by Emma, won the title as champion mare, and she was the only mare today to obtain 9 for both type and overall impression, Quattro was, of course, also invited to the Elite show. Dunaway, presented by Sofia, placed second in this group. The last event was the nomination of the best mare of the day. Due to the fact that Helgstrand Dressage won the champion titles in all groups, Thomas was quite busy, as he showed all the mares. Fortunately, all the mares did really well once again. In the end, the winner of the title as the best mare of the day was the beautiful Tørveslettens Quattro. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL BREEDERS AND OWNERS OF THE 7 MARES, we look forward to presenting 4 of the mares again in two weeks at the Elite show at Vilhelmsborg.
