In addition to the sales and training stable acquired in 2019 and continuously expanded, the Helgstrand Academy, which has existed since 2017, will now also open a branch in Wellington.

The objective is the training and further education of horses and riders under absolutely top conditions.

"When you deal with horses, you learn for life. Because every horse has its own character, its own strengths and weaknesses. With our concept of the Helgstrand Academy, we would like to offer all interested Riders, but also Owners, Grooms or simply horse enthusiasts the opportunity to expand their knowledge and continue their education - in and out of the saddle," explains Founder Andreas Helgstrand.

Dressage forums with national and international judges and clinics for all training classes from Young horse to Grand Prix level are planned from November on. World-renowned Trainers and Riders will be on hand to offer advice and assistance to Amateurs and Professionals alike, and will also provide an insight into their training and schooling concepts.

The teaching and training program will be rounded off by a large number of "Learning Days", which will deal with all the important topics relating to the management and health of the horse as a partner in lectures and practical demonstrations.

The Helgstrand Academy will kick off with a two-day course featuring a top-class trainer, which will take place at Helgstrand Dressage's spacious facility in Wellington.

Further dates and opportunities to participate will be announced in September.

At the second licensing of the Danish Warmblood Society today, additional three 3-year-old stallions from Helgstrand received their 1-year of breeding approval. Like at the Danish Main Stallion Licensing in March 2023, the stallions were presented under saddle today besides being shown on the lunge followed by the free presentation. All stallions showed remarkable qualities and we can’t wait to follow them continuing their positive development.

With the approval, the stallions are allowed to participate at the Danish Warmblood 35-days test in October this year.

The three new approved stallions in Danish Warmblood:

Jagger by Jameson RS2 x Franklin
This stallion is out of the first crop of foals of the highly popular Jameson RS2, who has earned much success under Marieke van der Putten. His dam Verb.Pr.St. Silberniece is the half-sister of our stallion and double German Championship bronze medallist Total McLaren. Damsire is our KWPN Champion Stallion, Danish Warmblood Elite Stallion and Intermediare II successful Franklin. Jagger is bred by Ralf Knauf.

Globall by Global Player x Fürstenball
This young talent is sired by last year’s World Champion of Young Horses, Global Player and with the much-coveted Fürstenball as damsire. Demonstrating top rideability always in great balance and with an eye-catching look. Globall is bred by Arnold Wegbuender.

Sénégal de Fontaine by Springbank II VH x Sezuan
Extreamly well-moving young stallion by the successful Springbank II VH, who among many unmentioned results, took the win in the Swedish Breeders Trophy three times and advanced to S-level dressage with numerous placings under German Yara Reichert. The dam is Danish Warmblood Gold Medal Mare and Grand Prix successful Queenpark’s Wendy and thus damsire the three-time World Champion of young dressage horses Sezuan. Sénégal is bred by Chateau De Fontaine.

Pictured: Valuable sired by Helgstrand's former breeding stallion Valverde. Sold at the Helgstrand-Schockemöhle Online Foal Auction for 79,000 euro.

We have organised several foal auctions in collaboration with our German partner, Deckstation Schockemöhle, with great success for the breeders. We have travelled around Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands to inspect foals, and it has been a pleasure to see so many high-quality offspring sired by Helgstrand or Schockemöhle stallions and to meet the breeders in person. Maintaining a close relationship to our breeders is very important to us.

- We want to provide the best service to our customers throughout the entire process, which is why we have decided to organise the auctions once again giving the breeders the perfect opportunity to reach out to potential buyers. At the same time, the inspections provide an opportunity to maintain a close dialogue, so that we can always stay on top of what our customers want, said Esben Møller, auction manager at Helgstrand Dressage.

The only requirement for participating in the inspections is that it must be an offspring of a current or former breeding stallion from one of the two stations. You can easily show more than one.

Among the many successful offspring sold at the Helgstrand-Schockemöhle auctions is Valuable, pictured here. An offspring of Helgstrand's former breeding stallion Valverde, who has achieved great success up to Intermediare II with his new rider, German Yara Reichert. Valuable was bought by Vicky Lavorie for 79,000 euros at Helgstrand-Schockemöhle's online foal auction in 2020. Valuable, bred by Lena and Rasmus Dalsgaard, has since been licensed in the Danish Warmblood Society.

Two online foal auctions with inspections in Denmark and Germany

This year there will be inspections in Denmark as in previous years, and we will also organise an inspection at Schockemöhle in Mühlen, Germany.

The first auction is in mid-June, with the inspections in Denmark on May 8th and 9th and in Germany on May 15th.

The second auction is in August, with the inspection in Germany on June 30th and in Denmark on July 3rd and 4th.

Pictured: Winner of the 2023 Danish Young Horse Championship, Quinn G. (Quaterhit/Fassbinder) and Betina Jæger.

They all qualified last year for the Danish Warmblood Young Horse Championship. The 47 best 5-year-old dressage horses have competed for the prestigious title. In the first and second rounds presented by their own rider and in the third round, Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour was responsible for the test riding.

Quinn G. has developed remarkably over the three days! She is one of a kind. A world-class dressage horse. Sired by former Helgstrand stallion Quaterhit out of Fassbinder and bred by Helene Geervliet. She received two-time the dream score of 10 from Cathrine. Quinn G. was presented by Betina Jæger.

Also, our Danish Warmblood Gold Medal Mare and winner of DEF’s Dressage Championship last year, Valerie B (Revolution/Zack, bred by Karin and Peer Guldbrandsen) received high marks and finished 2nd, presented by Anne-Mette Strandby Hansen. Moreover, Alkaline sired by Secret out of Zalmiak Firfod (bred by Anette Blangsted) came 3rd in the Danish Warmblood Young Horse Championship, presented by Merita Hagrén.

In the field of young horses, we have seen several horses sired by current or former Helgstrand stallions – and it just makes us proud to see, how they have developed into being fantastic dressage horses. And we are sure many will continue their positive development and one day enters the big sport.

Congratulations to the riders, breeders and owners of those lovely young horses!

It has been five exciting days at this year's Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning, Denmark. A selection of the best stallions has been invited to the show this year, some of which have made it through the eye of the needle and will make a positive impact on the Danish Warmblood Society in the coming years.

On Thursday, six of our 4-year-old stallions were accepted in Danish Warmblood - Feinsten, Elastic, About You II, Value, Åtoftens Springtime, Fifty-Fifty, while Opoque was given a one-year breeding approval.

We brought nineteen 3-year-old candidates representing different performance lines and exciting pedigrees. The Danish Warmblood Society has changed the procedure this year so that the 3-year-olds were shown under saddle on the first day, which usually happens on the last day of the licensing, which is today. The 1-day test is mandatory in order to obtain 1-year of breeding approval, but can be postponed to the second licensing in April. All our stallions performed very well and were allowed to continue. In the following days, the stallions were shown on hard surface, on the lunge followed by the free presentation this morning.

With the result of the licensing this afternoon, we are proud to add 14 new stallions to the collection. They have all received one year of breeding approval from the Danish Warmblood Society.
