Château de Fontaine is looking for an experienced rider for their young horses
Do you have the skills and experience to educate the top horses of the future and want to be a part of the development of one of the worlds leading breeding stables based on new and modern technology, then read along.
Helgstrand Dressage cooperates with one of the world’s most ambitious breeding stables, Château de Fontaine, which is located in beautiful surroundings in Normandy in Northern France. They combine carefully selected mares and stallions and breed promising future dressage stars of the very finest quality. Among the mares, there is the medalist from the Young Horse Championship Queensparks Wendy and the Gold Medal mare Skovens Tzarina, which is combined with the finest collection of stallions from Helgstrand. For the mares embryo transfer is used, so they can still take part in top sport while the broodmares carry their valuable offspring. For the beginning of the riding career for these young horses, we are now looking for a skilled and ambitious rider, who can be responsible for the training at Château de Fontaine.
Be part of creating your own job
Your tasks will primarily be to handle the process of breaking in the young horses, but there will also be older horses that need training and education and you will partition in Championships and competitions because Château de Fontaine also works as a sales stable, where horses on different levels are offered to French customers.
You will be part of a small team of entrepreneurs which includes Bolette Wandt and four more which help with the daily work. The company is relatively new and still undergoes development and you can therefore as a rider take part in the development of both the work and the place. There will be ongoing contact with Helgstrand Dressage regarding the selection and education of the horses, but we expect that you want to take responsibility and lead the way when the young horses are trained.
Château de Fontaine
Château de Fontaine is located in a beautiful area next to the largest private-owned forest in France only 1,5-hour drive from Paris, 45 minutes from the harbor cities Deauville and Trouville with pleasant city life, beaches and only 8 minutes to the nearest city with a train station that takes you directly to Paris. The place is built in the most beautiful manor style with a large garden and modern facilities which include loose housing for the young horses and broodmares, stable area with boxes, saddle area, and indoor and outdoor riding arena. Because Château de Fontaine has specialized in embryo transfer, the place also has modern laboratory facilities.
Unfortunately, it is not a possibility to live at Château de Fontaine, but there are plenty apartments, etc. for rent nearby and we will of course be helpful with this.
We expect you to be fluent in English and if you speak French it is an advantage.
Job interviews will take place at Helgstrand Dressage, we will take in candidates for interviews ongoing.
