Today, Helgstrand Dressage makes another history by announcing, that Esben Møller - who has recently celebrated his 25th anniversary at Blue Hors Stud - has chosen to be a part of team Helgstrand, where he will be responsible for scouting new promising horses.

Esben Møller has played a significant role in the breeding history with the purchase of high quality stallions. Among the many unmentioned highlights are Blue Hors Don Schufro and Blue Hors Zack.

With more than 25 years as responsible for the stallion station at Blue Hors Stud as well as scouting and purchasing new promising horses, it is with great pleasure that Helgstrand can announce that Esben Møller will take part of team Helgstrand, which counts approx. 80 employees in Denmark, Germany and the US. The exact date for Esben’s commencement with Helgstrand Dressage is to be published later.

- We can hardly describe how proud we are that Esben has chosen Helgstrand Dressage as his next career step. He has many years of experience and he is able to contribute with valuable knowledge about the selection of young horses. He has a keen eye for quality horses and is incredible at spotting unique horses. I have great respect for what Esben has achieved over time and I am looking forward to the fact that we can now benefit from his experience, says Andreas Helgstrand.

- It has been a difficult decision to resign from my position at Blue Hors Stud after 25 years. It feels like your whole life and I am very grateful to the Kirk Kristiansen family for the trust and the great cooperation, we have had. However, the time has come to try something new and I am really happy to take part of team Helgstrand and to work with Andreas again. I am also looking forward to concentrating on what I am really good at, says Esben Møller.

Esben Møller and Andreas Helgstrand know each other very well as they have worked together at Blue Hors Stud for several years before Andreas founded Helgstrand Dressage in 2009.

- We know each other very well and there was no doubt that I had to say yes, when Esben asked to join team Helgstrand. He has a great experience and vision and therefore, I also see great opportunities in our future cooperation. I am really looking forward to working together with Esben again, says Andreas.

- Andreas and I have had many great moments together, among others, with Blue Hors Matiné and Blue Hors Don Schufro, which we all know. I have great respect for what Andreas has achieved in only 10 years and I would really want to be part of that fantastic journey, adds Esben.

Fantastic gaits, impressive balance, active hind legs and masculine expression - this is exactly what characterizes the new stallion, that Helgstrand Dressage has purchased; Kardieno by Dante Weltino OLD/Parcival. A combination of the best genes, a stallion that for sure catches the eye when he enters the arena.

- We are delighted with the purchase of this 4-year-old stallion. Every day I see top horses, but this stallion is so unique and we look forward to offer him as part of our stallion collection to our breeders, said Andreas Helgstrand proudly.

Kardieno impressed the spectators already at the 2018 KWPN stallion licensing and many were waiting with excitement for him to enter the arena this year. High-set, elegant and with powerful gaits. At the KWPN stallion licensing he was presented by Bart Veeze from the Netherlands.

For the many breeders who have secured a ticket to Helgstrand Dressage and Paul Schockemöhle's stallion show in Verden this Friday and for the people visiting this year's Danish Warmblod Stallion Licensing in Herning really have something to look forward to.

- We actually wanted to make it a surprise, but it can be a difficult to keep the enthusiasm for ourselves and we also think that the breeders should have something to look forward to, said Andreas with a smile.

Kardieno has been approved in KWPN, after finishing his performance test with a high score. Not only does he look like his father, the impressive Dante Weltino, who qualified for the German Bundeschampionat as both 5-year and 6-year-old with Therese Nilshagen, he also possesses his quality. As a 7-year-old, Dante Weltino made his debut with Therese in S-dressage and he won his first Grand Prix as only 8 years old. Since then, they have achieved numerous victories and places at international Grand Prix level and among the highlights to mention; winning team bronze at the 2017 European Championship in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Kardieno is bred by Janneke Gnodde from Terschelling, the Netherlands.

Today, the 2019 KWPN Stallion Licensing ended in 's Hertogenbosch and it was a strong selection of dressage stallions, who one by one entered the arena in front of the judges. Among the top three we find the high-set and extremely well-moving young stallion, Lance V.O.D., by the 2018 World Champion of 7-year-old dressage horses in Ermelo, Glamourdale, with damsire Davino V.O.D., which Andreas Helgstrand secured for the collection.

- Lance V.O.D. has three fantastic gaits with very active hind legs and in addition he is an ideal of a modern sport horse with a masculine expression. It is a stallion that I already have great expectations for, said Andreas Helgstrand proudly.

Lance V.O.D. entered the 3rd place among the licensed stallions and got one year's breeding approval in KWPN.

- Not only did we secure another Premium Stallion for our collection, we were also pleased with the fact, that Lennox W by Grand Galaxy Win/Rousseau became Reserve Champion at the 2019 KWPN Stallion Licensing, said Andreas.

Grand Galaxy Win has for a long period been a part of Helgstrand Dressage's stallion collection and will continue to be available in 2019, but is today owned by Danish-American Charlotte Jorst.

In addition, another three stallions by Grand Galaxy Win were approved in KWPN today:

Le Grand Ayden HB by Grand Galaxy Win/Uphill

Lotus-S by Grand Galaxy Win/Juventus

Livingstone by Grand Galaxy Win/Uphill

Helgstrand Dressage continues to buy new Premium Stallions and Champion Stallions to secure the breeders the best stallion collection. And this weekend Helgstrand could add another Champion Stallion to the impressive collection as Andreas manged to buy the Champion Stallion of the 2018 Westphalian Stallion Licensing.

The stallion by Dancier/Floriscount/Rascalino has a great expression and showed impressive gaits throughout the entire stallion licensing show and the final bid also reflects the high quality of the stallion. Helgstrand Dressage managed to buy the stallion for no less than 700,000 euro.

In keeping with tradition also the Althengsteparade took place and Valverde by Vitalis/Ampere, the 2016 Westphalian Champion Stallion made an incredible show with our German rider, Eva Möller in the saddle. Valverde is stationed at Center Sudenhof in Hagen, Germany and trained by Eva.

The stallion by Dancier/Floriscount is co-owned by Helgstrand Dressage and Paul Schockemöhle.

Last Monday was the final day at this year's Danish Warmblood 35-days stallion performance test. All stallions performed very well and especially So Unique by Sezuan/Donnerhall and Tørveslettens Sylvester by Sezuan/Stedinger made a great impression on the breeding commission and thus won the dressage test for 3- and 4-year-olds respectively.

It is always quite exciting when the stallions are to leave for taking part in the 35-days performance test although the excitement increase as we are approaching the midterm evaluation and continue to rise until the end of the test. Torben Frandsen, who traditionally is responsible for the 35-days test, showed the stallions together with his team as well as this year's test rider, Jan Møller Christensen.

We are so pleased with the results as So Unique won among the eleven 3-year-old stallions scoring a total of 872.5 points and Tørvesletten's Sylvester won the 4-year-old stallion performance test scoring 870.5 points.

Many names have been taken into consideration - Grand Canyon, Gigabyte, but now the name has finally been chosen for this amazing young stallion; Global Player. He already lives up to the expectations after becoming Champion Stallion at the 2018 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing in Vechta this weekend.

Many had already predicted Global Player a promising future and the new title as Champion Stallion is indeed one step further to become maybe the next World Champion. The comments from the judges and the applause from the spectators this weekend did show us, that this stallion is one of a kind.

There were 7 stallions who were competing in order to get the title Champion Stallion, but it was Global Player by Grand Galaxy Win/Blue Hors Don Schufro who won the prestigious title. Both the spectators and the judges were impressed by the exceptional gaits and modern expression.

Global Player is owned by Helgstrand Dressage, the Danish breeder, HH Horses and Schockemöhle and will be stationed in Mühlen at Schockemöhle in the 2019 breeding season.

The very successful international rider, Helen Langehanenberg is now able to add another promising star to her stable thanks to her sponsor, Tiffany Goldman; Straight Horse Ascenzione is by Blue Hors Zack/Blue Hors Don Schufro, a full sister of the triple world champion, Sezuan.

Among Helgstrand Dressage's many sales horses it is not without reason that Tiffany and Helen would choose to buy this mare, who despite of her young age already has achieved great results. As a 3-year-old, she was awarded a silver medal at the Danish Warmblood Elite Show and the following year she qualified for the Danish Young Horse Championship finals. In 2018, the young mare took another important step as she placed second in the small final at the 2018 World Breeding Dressage Championships in Ermelo with Helgstrand Dressage's rider Victoria Vallentin and thus qualified for the finals where she finished 8th among the world's best 5-year-old dressage horses.

- Ascenzione is an expressive and very well-moving mare. She is incredibly easy to handle, a quick learner and has already proven her worth at the 2018 WBFSH. Now it's up to me to take her to the next level and with her work ethic, I'm sure we can reach all the way, said Helen Langehanenberg.

- We are very pleased that Tiffany has bought Ascenzione and that Helen will continue the training of her. Helen has many years of experience and Ascenzione has the capacity to reach all the way to the top. Helen has been very successful training young horses up to Grand Prix herself and I look forward to seeing what the future brings. There is no doubt that we have found a perfect match, said Andreas Helgstrand.

Helen Langehanenberg lives in Billerbeck, Germany with her husband and two children. She has a long dressage career, but most people probably remember when she won silver at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and was individually placed as number 4 at Damon Hill, or her gold medal with Damon Hill at the 2013 European Championships in Herning, Denmark including an individual silver medal. In addition, she has several wins at international Grand Prix level with Damsey FRH and Suppenkasper as well as several wins at the German Bundeschampionat and at the German Dressage Championships.

Straight Horse Ascenzione is another successful horse from Stud Straight Horse in Allerød, Denmark. Among many highlights include Straight Horse Don Tamino has just been selected for the Swiss national team, the gold medal mare Straight Horse De Milla has qualified for the 2019 Danish young horse championship in Herning with 3rd highest national score and the series of success stories also include the breeding stallion Straight Horse Sir Romance, which is owned in collaboration with Helgstrand Dressage.

At Helgstrand Dressage we think, it's very important to give the horses the best possible start in life. But until now we didn't have the opportunity to stable our foals and young horses before 2 years of age due to lack of space. But with the purchase of the beautiful farm, Ny Ravnstrup only 5 minutes from Helgstrand Dressage, we are ready to begin a new chapter at Helgstrand Dressage.

- We buy around 50-70 foals a year and for a long time it has been a great desire to have the foals at Helgstrand being able to give them the best conditions. With the purchase of Ny Ravnstrup we can now make the dream come true and that is a great feeling, said Andreas.

Ny Ravnstrup is only 5 minutes from Helgstrand Dressage and the plan is that the General Manager, Thomas Sigtenbjerggard and his wife, Lene Birkemose, who is managing the stallion station in Denmark, are going to live at Ny Ravnstrup.

- We are very much looking forward to run the place. The plan is to build new stables, which will house around 150 horses and in addition an indoor arena. The many hectares of land will be used to make our own hay, so that we may be able to supplement beyond what we buy. It's a big project and I'm really looking forward to getting started, adds Thomas, who at the same time sees Ny Ravnstrup as the perfect setting for him and his family.

- At Helgstrand Dressage a new era will begin with the purchase of Ny Ravnstrup. We are given the opportunity to follow our horses already from foals, giving them the best conditions by letting them grow up with other foals in a loose-housing system. They will be out every day and our competent veterinarians and farriers will make sure they get the best treatment, said Andreas.
